Aerial view of Buck Mountain Retreat in the snow

This cozy chalet was originally built in 1984 nestled in front of a 45 ft rocky outcrop.  Sitting on nearly 3 secluded acres at 4,000 ft above sea level, this retreat feels miles away from civilization, but is actually less than 10 minutes to various restaurants, shops, and activities.  Relax on the deck and take in the amazing views of 5,600 ft Brown Lead Peak and enjoy visits from local wildlife including elk, wild turkeys, birds, chipmunks and other furry and feathered friends.

The cascading creek running through the property provides the calming sounds of water rippling through rocks and over small waterfalls; a perfect backdrop for a relaxing day on the deck, an afternoon nap in the hammock swings, or a restful nights sleep.

The rich history of this small mountain town and neighboring Cherokee Indian reservation has been incorporated into the home with paintings, handcrafted sculptures, and various décor from local artists and carvers.

Buck - Black Lab
About Buck

Buck Mountain Retreat sits on the west side of 5,000 ft Buck Mountain, but the name also has ties to our first dog, Buck.  Adopted as a one year old pup, this handsome black lab quickly won us over with his loveable, loyal, and gentle personality.  The name Buck will always remind us of 14  years of chasing frisbees, family vacations, morning walks...and the occasional stolen loaf of bread or peanut butter jar.
